The Nigerian singer Burna Boy has been nominated for the 2020 Grammy Awards!
The singer was listed among the nominations for the coming award, which was announced on November 20, 2019.
Burna Boy’s album, African Giant got nominated in the Best World Album category. He was nominated in the category alongside Altin Gün for Gece, Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley for What Heat, Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet for Fanm D’Ayiti, and Angelique Kidjo for Celia.
The major award itself will be held on January 26, 2020 and it will be hosted by Alicia Keys. Nominees were led by Lizzo with eight nominations. She is followed by Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X with six nominations.
Burna Boy follows in the footsteps of Seun Kuti, Femi Kuti and King Sunny Ade in getting nominated for that category at the Grammy Awards.

EFCC : Arrested Three For Sim Swap Fraud Of 7 million

The suspects- Adewuyi A. Adebayo,31; Osikoya K. Gboyega, 44 and Akintunde Ogunrinde, 47- were arrested on September 9, 2019 following intelligence about their activities. They were arrested at different locations in Lagos State and transferred to Makurdi, Benue State. The petitioner alleged that on 18th of February, 2018, he noticed his MTN line had stopped working as no calls or messages came to his phone and the phone displayed a message saying, ‘invalid SIM card’.

He went to the MTN office to lodge a complaint but was told to apply for a welcome back SIM that was not successful as someone else had swapped his SIM card in AbiaHe immediately contacted his account officer at FCMB to inform them of the development and to change his alert phone number to another line only to discover that transactions had occurred on his account without his consent.


The threshold limit for online transfers on his account had also been increased above five hundred thousand Naira and the sum of Seven million, one hundred and seven thousand, five hundred and forty Naira (N7,107,540.00) removed from his account.

Tacha has been disqualified from Big Bother Naija

Tacha has been disqualified from the 2019 Big Brother Naija reality show, following the ealier physical confrontation with Mercy  on Friday.
It all began when Seyi called Mercy to come out to the lounge so they can read Biggie’s scroll.But Mercy who had her bath came out late for the reading. This, however, provoked Tacha who rained insults at her.
Tacha said, ”You are a moron, remain there and don’t come out. clout chaser, old woman, you keep using your body to get everything you want. You have been using Ike to get what you want. You can’t stand eviction that is why you need Ike to help you.”Mercy replied, ” You are very stupid, you Instagram beggar. Go and treat your body odour before you talk to me, you stink. At least, I have a boyfriend (Ike) to get me what I want. What have your boyfriend done for you?”
During the argument, Tacha pushed Mercy and also dragged her weave twice, while Mercy who struggled to control her anger picked up a pressing iron but was stopped by Omoshola.
However, this could lead to disqualification or a strike from the organizers of the show as housemates have been warned against violence in the house.

Breaking news :: Two arrested over alleged possession of human skull in Osun

Osogbo Operatives of Operation Puff Adder in Osun State on Tuesday, arrested two men in Osogbo, for being in possession of a human skull.
The two men, Mohammed Sanni and Raheem Abdullateef, living at Popo Area of Osogbo were nabbed at Gbaemu Junction of the state capital around 3:00 a.m. with a human skull.
The patrol team of Operation Puff Adder led by Emmanuel Ajisebutu, it was learnt, intercepted the suspects and upon a search of their luggage, discovered they had in it human part.  Sources around Gbaemu Junction, where the men were caught, told our correspondent that the suspects must have got the skull from a grave in Oke Ola, a nearby neighbourhood.    In a chat with our correspondent, police spokesperson for Osun Command, Folasade Odoro, explained that the men of Operation Puff Adder on patrol within Osogbo metropolis stopped the suspects after trailing them to Gbaemu Junction.   She said, “The man had already given the police tangible information about their activities.
“The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Ige had directed that the men should be arraigned before court after proper investigation into their activities has been carried out.”

Court Orders DSS To Release Sowere

Details have emerged as to how pro-democracy campaigner and Convener of RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore, found out that he had been granted bail on Tuesday by the Federal High Court in Abuja. 
Sowore was granted bail by Justice Taiwo Taiwo on the condition that he deposits his international passport with the court and that he is produced whenever needed by his lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN).
Speaking with Sahara Reporters at the facility of the Department of State Services where he is being held in Abuja, Sowore said, "On Tuesday morning, I was asked to dress up by men of the DSS in preparation for my arraignment. 
"I got dressed and was ready to go to court but was left unattended to for several hours by the DSS with no communication as to the change in plans of the arraignment until evening when visitors came around and told me that I had been granted bail."
Sowore however, expressed skepticism on the will to carry out the court ruling by the Nigerian Government famed for disregarding court orders.
While thanking his supporters, he urged them not to relent in the demand for freedom and justice for every citizen arbitrarily detained by the Nigerian Government.
Sowore was arrested in Lagos on August 3, 2019 by operatives of the DSS for calling on Nigerians to pour out to the streets to express their anger at the poor state of governance in the country. 

A Woman Hanged Herself In Enugu A Day After Being Rescued From Committing Suicide

 A woman identified as Oluchi, has hanged herself, just a day after she made attempt to commit suicide by drinking a poisonous substance, but was rescued.
The incident happened yesterday, in Aku, Igbo Etiti LGA of Enugu State on Friday. According to reports, the woman was said to have suffered serious domestic violence from her husband since they wedded in 2014 which reportedly led to her developing a mental sickness.
She was later abandoned by the husband, who then moved to Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
All pleas that he should take care of her mental health fell on deaf ears.
However, on Thursday, Oluchi took a poisonous substance to end it all, but was rescued, only to hang herself yesterday
